Keep the original download untouched. Open the EXAMPLE workbook first to understand how records connect, then save a working copy of the CLEAN workbook for your real business. The intended operating sequence begins in SETUP and moves through clients, pets, services, pricing, bookings, daily route, visit records, payments and review.

CLEAN vs EXAMPLE

CLEANBlank operating file for your real business after setup.EXAMPLEFilled reference file for learning the intended workflow before entering live records.

Do not turn the EXAMPLE file into your live operating file by deleting sample records. Keep it as a permanent reference and use the CLEAN file for real data.

Setup sequence

  1. Save an untouched backup of both original files.
  2. Open EXAMPLE and review TODAY, DASHBOARD and representative records.
  3. Open CLEAN and configure SETUP before entering live records.
  4. Choose the reporting year, currency, distance and weight units, then add business/contact information and the follow-up window.
  5. Add clients first, then connect pets to those clients.
  6. Create the active service catalog and dated pricing records.
  7. Create operational bookings from the linked client, pet, service and price structure.
  8. Use DAILY ROUTE, VISIT LOG, PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS and FOLLOW-UPS to keep day-to-day records current.
  9. Use TODAY, DASHBOARD and REPORTS after the source records are current enough to interpret.
Important: changing currency, distance or weight settings updates labels only. It does not convert existing amounts, distances or weights.

Core workflow

CONNECTED OPERATING CHAINCLIENT → PET → SERVICE → PRICE → BOOKING → PAYMENT / VISIT → FOLLOW-UP

Payment and service delivery may occur in either order depending on the booking. RECURRING SCHEDULES is a planning register; it does not automatically create operational bookings. DAILY ROUTE is also a planning tool and is not GPS route optimization.

Compatibility and regional behavior

This edition is designed for Microsoft Excel. Google Sheets and Apple Numbers compatibility is not claimed for this Excel release. Importing the XLSX file into another spreadsheet application may change formulas, dropdowns, validations or formatting.

The workbook supports USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD currency codes, dd-mmm-yyyy dates and miles/km distance labels as designed. Decimal separators and some display behavior can follow the buyer’s Excel or operating-system regional settings.

Troubleshooting

A dropdown needs another option

Add it only to the appropriate yellow customizable list in SETUP, in the first empty yellow cell. Keep active options contiguous and do not modify teal system-controlled lists.

A dropdown appears blank or incomplete

Confirm the source client, pet, service, booking or schedule exists and has not been removed by structural edits. Test in Microsoft Excel rather than assuming another spreadsheet application reproduces the same validation behavior.

A recurring schedule did not create a booking

This is expected. RECURRING SCHEDULES plans recurring demand; confirmed operational bookings are created separately.

The route order was not optimized automatically

This is expected. DAILY ROUTE is a planning register for order, timing and distance; it is not a GPS routing engine.

Dashboard or reports look incomplete

Check the reporting year/month and the underlying bookings, visits, payments, expenses, travel and follow-up records. The management views can only summarize records that have been entered and pass the workbook checks.

Currency, distance, weight or date display looks different

Check SETUP and your Excel regional settings. Changing unit labels does not convert existing values, and decimal separators may follow the local Excel/operating-system locale.

Data safety

Keep backup copies before bulk imports or structural changes. Client, pet, access, health-context and payment-status records can contain sensitive business information. Use appropriate device security, backups, sharing controls and retention practices for your circumstances.

This workbook is an administrative business-management tool. It does not provide legal, accounting, tax, veterinary or financial advice.
